Nemetona
Goddess of the sacred grove, which in medieval
times was a sacred forest named Nemeton that surrounded a Benedictine
priory near Locronan in south western Brittany.
As a Gaulish and British goddess whose name appears on many inscriptions,
she also is linked to Mars, a god of war, through the Irish war goddess
Nemain.
