Eri (Eriu)

The goddess for whom Ireland is named. In Gaelic Ireland is rendered as Erin, which means the "land of Eriu". She was the wife of Ma Greine, son of Ogma and one of the Tuatha De Danann. When the Milesians invaded, she and her two sisters, Banba and Fotla went to greet them. All three asked the newcomers to name the island after her.

Triskel

The Triskel design on the dial is one of the basic Celtic designs. The circles represent the three domains of ancient Celtic belief: the underworld for the past, the earth world for the present, and the sky world for the divine.
